I remember your mother very fondly. She and my mama, Sarah Sinclair, were dear friends forever and got into more mischief than you and I probably ever heard about. There were a bunch of the girls in a birthday club deal where they got together every month one or more had a birthday and went out to eat. I caught up with them in Myrtle Beach one spring at a seafood restaurant celebrating. They kindly had included me. I learned quickly seniors like their parties a wee bit different from middle aged ladies. After we all got seated the table wasn't right so we had to move then instead of keeping it quiet about being someone's birthday, they announced it to the wait staff so an appropriate song would be sung loudly and cake presented. What a hoot they were! As I have aged I now understand why when your mom couldn't sleep, she'd arise, cook breakfast, and enjoy it then. Waking in the middle of the night is more common after 60 than after 40. Many fond remembrances of Miss LaRue bring sweet memories to my mind. I pray you know the peace from your mother's homegoing to the arms of Jesus. She lived life to His great honor. I'm so thankful to have known her.
