Obituary of Ronny Shoptaw

L. Ronny Shoptaw, 69, husband of Audrey E. Shoptaw, entered into eternal rest on January 2, 2012 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born on June 23, 1942, in Hinsonton, GA, he was a son of the late Louis Howard Shoptaw and the late Doris Virginia Blanchard Shoptaw. Mr. Shoptaw was a graduate of Winyah High School, attended Georgia Southwestern College and also served in the South Carolina National Guard. He was instrumental in the day to day operations of Graham Funeral Home in its early years. Mr. Shoptaw also enjoyed fishing and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; two children, Rhonda Douglas of Georgetown and West Shoptaw (Katie) of Charleston; one grandson, Donald Holton Shoptaw of Charleston; two brothers, Howard C. Shoptaw (Janice) of Georgetown and S.W. Shoptaw (Sylvia) of Santee; one niece, Lee Long (James) of Georgetown; and three nephews, Rus Shoptaw (Rene) of Georgetown, Shawn Shoptaw (Nora) of Greensboro, NC and Stacy Shoptaw (Jana) of Greensboro, NC. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 5, 2012 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ted Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
