Obituary of Dorothy Foxworth

Dorothy Proctor Layne Foxworth, 86, widow of Charles E. Foxworth, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on June 7, 1927, in Conway, she was a daughter of the late Clemson Proctor and the late Gussie Elnita Vaught Proctor. Mrs. Foxworth was a charter member of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the L & M Bunn Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women and the Young at Heart Club. She was a graduate of Conway High School, Winthrop College and the Charlotte Memorial Hospital School of Laboratory Technology. Mrs. Foxworth was the Director of Laboratory Technology at Georgetown Memorial Hospital and retired after 32 years of service. She was a former member of SC Society of Medical Technologist, Colonial Dames of XVII Century and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include one son, Laurence C. Layne of St. Augustine, FL; one daughter, Eva L. Wicks (Jim) of Mt. Pleasant; one step daughter, Jane F. Reavis (Rocky) of Conway; four grandchildren, Katie Wicks, Kyle Wicks, June Reavis and Wade Reavis; three great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Laurence H. "Larry" Layne; and two brothers, Dr. Eugene C. Proctor and Dr. Edward L. Proctor.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marie Knuckles officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
