George Walter Roberts, 82, husband of Bettye Spruill Roberts, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at his home.
Born on November 26, 1931, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Walter Roberts and the late Lola Perry Roberts. Mr. Roberts was a member of The Christian Fortress and was formerly employed by the Georgetown County Airport. He enjoyed flying, operating heavy equipment and racing.
Survivors include his wife of Georgetown; three children, Vickie Haskett (Dan) of Georgetown, Roger P. Roberts (Sandy) of Houston, TX and Russell R. Roberts of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, Chad Ourada of Cheyenne, WY, Walter Roberts (Crystal) of Houston, TX, Paul Roberts (Heidi) of New Orleans, LA and Jessica Carver of Tennessee; one great grandchild, Addisyn Roberts of Houston, TX; five sisters, Dorothy Roberts, TN, Alice Pirt (Joe) of Goose Creek, Peggy Goins of Georgetown, Jimmie Dale Etheridge of Summerville and Sandra Roberts of Florence; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, George Michael Roberts; five sisters; and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday at Graham Funeral Home.
