Obituary of Horace Goins

Horace Goins, Sr., 88, of Georgetown left to be with the Lord at 7:30 AM, June 15, 2011 surrounded by his loving wife of 59 years, family and friends at his home. Born on March 25, 1923 in Georgetown County, one of 18 children, he was a son of the late Fred Goins and the late Annie Mitchum Goins. Mr. Goins attended Antioch Pentecostal Holiness Church and served in the United States Army where he was an Infantry Man in the Mountain Division during World War II. After serving his country, he retired from International Paper Company with over 41 years of service. Mr. Goins love tending to his farm and livestock. He leaves behind his loving wife, Frankie Jewel Hammond Goins; two daughters, Rev. Wanda Wilson (Rev. Johnny R. Wilson) and Janice R. Goins; a son, Horace Goins, Jr. (Cindy Ray); 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Rev. John Goins (Jean); and a sister, Corine Lambert. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Jewel Holt; and 15 sisters and brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 18, 2011 at First Assembly of God with the Rev. David Richardson, Rev. Wanda Wilson and Rev. Steve Mueller officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday at Graham Funeral Home.
