Obituary of Francis Blake

Francis "Frank" Marion Blake, 87, widower of Laura Olivia Blake, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at his home.
Born on February 6, 1924, in Georgetown County, he was a son of the late Thomas Bryan Blake, Sr. and the late Florence Lynell Hardee Blake. Mr. Blake was a member of First Baptist Church and the Alford Sunday School Class. He was a graduate of Andrews High School and was a US Army Veteran of WWII having served in the South Pacific. Mr. Blake also served in the South Carolina Army National Guard and was retired from International Paper Company with 39 years of service.
Survivors include two half brothers, George Ralph Blake (Amelia) of Georgetown, Padgett "Pat" Laverne Blake, Sr. (Patsy) of Bessemer City, NC; a step daughter in law, Betty Jo Otts Williams of Glen Burnie, MD; 2 step grandchildren, James Leonard Williams (Denise) and Arlene Gassman (Chuck) both of Glen Burnie, MD; five step great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his step mother, Rubie Thomas Blake; a step son, James Leonard Williams; a brother, Thomas Bryan Blake, Jr.; and two sisters, Delane Blake Wilkes and Mary Lynell Blake Neely.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Friday, February 3, 2012 at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Sherrill officiating. Entombment will follow in the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
In lieu of flowers Mr. Blake requested memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 219 Cleland St. Georgetown, SC 29440 or to Tidelands Hospice House 2591, N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440
