Obituary of Zulean Springs Ray

Zulean Springs Ray, 87, widow of David Willard Ray, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at her home. Born on December 29, 1926, in Williamsburg County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Gadson Springs and the late Rosaleigh Altman Springs. Mrs. Ray was member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church and was a former Sunday School teacher and choir member. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling and gardening. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Cameron (Billy) of Georgetown and Arlene Tanner (Daryl) of Georgetown; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a number nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three daughters, Peggy-Jean Hill, Gloria Dianne Small and Cecelia Zulean Holmes; and a grandson, David W. Turner. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Ringel Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Daryl Tanner and Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Midway Cemetery in Hemingway. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Ringel Heights Baptist Church.
