Obituary of Sarah Thomas Newton

Sarah Katherine Thomas Newton, 77, widow of James L. Newton, passed away on November 10, 2014 at her home. Born on August 27, 1937, in Andrews, she was a daughter of the late Tom Thurlo Thomas and the late Sarah Edith Thomas. Mrs. Newton was a member of Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, spending time with her family and most of all serving the Lord. She was a loving mother and grandmother that was dedicated to her family. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Survivors include one son, Charles Thurlo Newton (Billi) of Andrews; three daughters, Iris Diane Dennis (Danny) of Bonneau, Katherine Delaine Morris of Georgetown and Patty Newton Wewers (Al) of Georgetown; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Steve Thomas (Angela) of Andrews; two sisters, Lessie Mae McCants (JT) of Georgetown and Doris Harrington of Andrews; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Thomas; and three sisters, Peggy Eaddy, Dorothy Poston and Margie Thomas. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Saints Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Chris Browder officiating. Burial will follow in Gourdines Chapel Cemetery.
