Georgetown Ralph W. Pender, 87, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Pender was born December 18, 1927 in Little River, South Carolina. He was a son of the late Joseph T. Pender and Molly Pender. Mr. Pender was a United States veteran who served with the Army Air Corps in World War II. He retired from auto sales and ran a wrecker service for many years. He was a devoted member of Herbert United Methodist Church and a member of Winyah Masonic Lodge #40 AFM for many years. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Marie Nuckles, will be held Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 1pm at Herbert United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 6pm-8pm at Graham Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Cemetery. Surviving are: his son, Ralph Mark Pender (Sheila) of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Caroline Elizabeth Pender and Laura Ashley Pender both of Georgetown; a number of nieces and nephews; and his friend and long-time caregiver Sue Shelley. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by twelve other siblings. Graham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.grahamfuneralhome.org
