Georgetown
Mr. Henry L. Cagle, 86, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at Tidelands Hospice House.
Mr. Cagle was born October 1, 1928 in Andrews, SC. He was a son of the late Carl C. Cagle and Retha Fenters Cagle.
Mr. Cagle was a veteran of the Army Air Corps; during which, he served as a surgical technician. Most of his working years were with Koppers Inc. where he managed Koppers Pole Yard near the Santee River. His last eight year with Koppers were spent in Aberdeen, North Carolina until his retirement in 1990. He was an avid car racing fan and spent many of his younger years racing on the dirt track circuit in car #25. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He was a devoted member of the Georgetown Church of Christ.
A funeral service, with military honors, will be held at Georgetown Church of Christ on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 1:30pm, officiated by Minister Fred Ady. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12pm-1:30pm at the church. Burial will follow the service at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are: one daughter, Debbie Cagle Jordan (Tony) of Georgetown; one son, James C. Cagle (Debbie) of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Craig Cagle (Kelly), Jamie Cagle, Jenna Jordan, and Melody J. Skipper (Steven), all of Georgetown; three great-grandchildren, Cale Cagle, Jordan Skipper, and Hannah May Skipper, all of Georgetown; three sisters, Gladys C. Cribb, Joyce C. Owens, and Gloria C Mercer, all of Georgetown; and one brother, Jimmy W. Cagle (Sara) of Georgetown.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Emma Plant Cagle, and four siblings, Carl “Buckshot” Cagle, Dolores C. Durant, Ruby C. Boisvert, and Bobby W. Cagle.
