Obituary of Karen C. Ogburn

Pawleys Island Karen C. Ogburn, 64, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Waccamaw Community Hospital. She was born July 22, 1950 in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was a daughter of the late Vernon L. Collins and Winifred B. Collins. Mrs. Ogburn was married to her late husband, Benjamin Franklin Ogburn Sr. for 41 years and loved nothing more than taking care of her friends and family. She was a member of Herbert United Methodist Church and a Treasurer at the VFW. Mrs. Ogburn was a former school nurse, kindergarten teacher, and teacher’s aid at Maryville School. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 2pm in the chapel of Graham Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Surviving are her two sons, Benjamin F. Ogburn II (Tiffany) of Georgetown and Vernon D. Ogburn (Katharine) of Murrells Inlet; her daughter, Tara O. Lance (Jobie) of Georgetown; ten grandchildren, Brandon Lambert (Ashley), Breanna Ogburn, Noah Lance, Chelsea Lance, Abigail Lance, J. J. Lance, Izabella Ogburn, Liam Ogburn, Vincent Ogburn, Edwin Ossont; two great grandchildren, Sydney Lambert and Chloe Turek. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Sandra C. Stickel, and a brother, Vernon L. Collins Jr. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 6pm-8pm. Arrangements by Graham Funeral Home.
