James Francis “Jimmy” Moss, 67, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at Tidelands Hospice House.
He was born September 19, 1947 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Mr. Moss was the son of the late Mary Frances Henderson Moss and James Clifton Moss.
Mr. Moss was a Vietnam Veteran who was awarded the Purple Heart during his service. He was an active member at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of the Stullenberger Sunday School Class. Mr. Moss was on the board of Helping Hands and was a softball coach for many years. He enjoyed golf, boating, and spending time at the river with family and friends. He was an avid Clemson Tiger fan. Mr. Moss was a graduate of Winyah High School and was retired from Stevedore Services of America as a Superintendent.
Surviving are: his wife, of 38 years, Donna McBride Moss; his daughter, Stacy Moss Beverly (Brad) of Lexington; and his grandson, Charles Gresham Beverly.
A memorial service, with military honors, will be held Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 4pm at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
