Obituary of Rocky Don Ward, Jr.

Rocky Don Ward Jr., 39, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Medical University of South Carolina. Born July 4, 1976 in Georgetown, Mr. Ward was a son of Brenda Elliott Harlan and the late Rocky D. Ward, Sr. Mr. Ward was a graduate of Georgetown High School and an avid Gamecock and Dallas Cowboys football fan. He loved his job at the steel mill and enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with family and friends. His greatest love was watching his sons play ball. Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Nicole Cooper Ward; two sons, Dallas Ward and Joshua Ward, both of Georgetown; his mother, Brenda Elliott Harlan (Jim) of Georgetown; one brother, Dustin Ward of Georgetown; one step-brother, James Harlan III; two step-sisters, Christina Franco (Chris) of Allen Park, Michigan and Monica Davis (Shawn) of El Paso, Texas; his maternal grandmother, Corrie Mae Elliott of Georgetown; and his beloved dog, Buddy. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, James Elliott, and his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Burrows. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Wilkerson, will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 at 3pm at Georgetown Church of God, 2201 Highmarket Street. A visitation will be held at the church, one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens following the funeral service.
