Georgetown
Doris Lake Duelley passed into eternal rest on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11am in Graham Funeral Home Chapel. A musical gathering will take place for thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will be held at 4pm at Carolina Memorial Park in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Mrs. Duelley was born September 19, 1925 in Black Mountain, NC, a daughter of the late Curtis and Maggie Lake. The family later made Charleston their home place.
Mrs. Duelley was a retired International Paper Company office administrator of the Georgetown branch with 32 years of service and a member of their Quarter Century Club. She was a charter member of Wayne United Methodist Church and lovingly served in various capacities within the church and was a charter member of the chancel choir. She and her husband were avid square dancers and spent many happy years as members and representatives of the S.C. Federations of Dancers. They also treasured their time spent at their retreat on Black River, sharing the enjoyment with family and friends.
Mrs. Duelley was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 55 years, Calob S. “Kay” Duelley, her daughter, Carol Kay Duelley Nooft, and sister Ruth M. Lake.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Ginger M. Painter (Rusty); one grandson, Jonathan R. Nooft; two great granddaughters, Lillie and Lauren Painter, all of Columbia, SC; and a very special nephew, Robert C. Mack of Atlantic Beach, Florida; a few cousins; and her extended family, Becky and Lewis Britt of Georgetown.
