Obituary of Faye Burgess Cline
Georgetown
Myrtis Faye Burgess Cline, 76, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born April 6, 1941 in Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late John Leonard Burgess and Odganetta Mau Burgess.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Steve Candal, will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Screven Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral beginning at noon. Burial, with Order of Eastern Star Rites, will follow the service in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Cline grew up in Georgetown and was a 1959 graduate of Winyah High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Eastern Florida State University (formerly Brevard Community College). After many years of service, Mrs. Cline retired as a bookkeeper from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. She was a member of Screven Baptist church, a charter member of Hadji Court Number 88 Ladies’ Oriental Shrine of North America, and a member of Winyah Chapter 148 Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Cline was the former owner of Faye’s Country store and The Maryville Inn. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, volunteering at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital and spending time with her friends and family.
Surviving are one daughter, Susan Osborne Baldwin and her husband Jim of Pawleys Island; one son, Johnny Osborne of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Meaghan Shirer (Bill), Davis Morris, Dylan Morris, Jameson Baldwin, and Macy Osborne; one great-grandson, Emmett Shirer, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Burgess.
