Obituary of Dorothy Ann Brown
Dorothy Ann (Thomas) Brown “Dottie”, 81, of Lorton, VA, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at her son’s home in Berryville, Virginia.
Ms. Brown was born August 23, 1936 in Conway, SC, daughter of the late Phillip Fred Thomas, Sr. and Annie Gorman Thomas.
Dottie retired from Computer Sciences Corporation after 30 years of service in the accounting department.
She was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church in Georgetown, SC and regularly attended Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, VA.
Dottie was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who spent her life devoted to her family. She will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving are sons, Malcolm L. Brown, Jr. of Annandale, VA and Robert Brown of Berryville, VA; daughter, Deborah Wheeler of Lorton, VA; sisters, Ethelyn Blake of Georgetown, SC, Ada Caton of Myrtle Beach, SC, Frances Hilton of Litchfield, SC and Peggy White of Georgetown, SC; brothers, Harvey Thomas of Pine Bluff, AK, Johnny Thomas and Charles Thomas, both of Georgetown, SC; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her brothers, Phillip Fred Thomas, Jr., George “Buddy” Thomas, and Joseph Allen Thomas, all preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends 7:00 – 9:00 P. M. Friday, September 1, 2017 at Graham Funeral Home, 2200 S. Fraser St, Georgetown, SC 29440.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 A. M. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Rose Hill Baptist Church, 4572 Rose Hill Rd., Georgetown, SC. Burial will immediately follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens, Georgetown, SC.
