Obituary of Jimmy Donald McCraw

Jimmy Donald “Don” McCraw, 76, husband of Barbara Sue Stepp McCraw, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Medical University of South Carolina.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 6-8pm at Graham Funeral Home.  A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Daryl Tanner, will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 2pm in Screven Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

Born in Grassy Pond, SC on June 3, 1941, he was a son of the late Darwin Dwight McCraw and the late Jimmie Ollie McCraw.

Mr. McCraw was a devoted member of Screven Baptist Church and of the Keystone Sunday School Class.  He was a former deacon and honorary member of the property committee.  Mr. McCraw was a 1964 graduate of Clemson University. He retired from International Paper after thirty-four years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.  He loved his family and helping people whenever he could.  He was a Team Unit Leader for Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief.  In his free time, Mr. McCraw loved to fish and shrimp.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 57 years are his two sons, Bobby Wayne McCraw of Georgetown, SC, Kenneth Ray McCraw (Jeanna) of Chapel Hill, NC; one daughter, Brenda McCraw Kerner (Richard) of Conway, SC; four grandchildren, Kerri McCraw, Dana McCraw, Erin McCraw, and Colby Kerner; one sister, Mary Jean Glover of Gastonia, NC; one brother, Harold McCraw (Margaret) of Gaffney, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Chris McCraw.
