We have no words to fully describe the depth of sadness we feel at Brian's passing. Brian was a kind, thoughtful, compassionate, intelligent, sweet soul. He was always willing to jump in and lend a hand to family or friends.
Brian's gentle easy going nature drew people to him. He was known for striking up conversations with strangers and walking away as friends. I witnessed his personable gifts many times and I was always impressed with the ease in which he started up conversations with complete strangers. He naturally put people at ease, allowing them to feel comfortable opening up to him. Because of this gift he struck up a friendship with my husband's nephew Geoffry. They were the same age. Whenever the Wilson Clan came down to S.C. or Brain came to Massachusetts, Geoff, and Brian quickly fell back into their friendship. Sadly, in 2011 Geoffrey chose to take his own life. I recall the conversation that Brian and I had about Geoff and the personal struggles he endured. Brian's first thought was, "I wish I had lived closer and could have been there for him." That truly spoke of the kind of young man Brian was.
As a teenager when we would visit South Carolina, Brian often hung out with us at the beach, going on adventures, or at Mimi & Papa Jim's house. We not only laughed a lot with Brian but had many philosophical discussions. He was a deep thinker and pondered on some of life's bigger questions.
There are no words that I can offer to Jan, Blaine and Brian's siblings that can numb the pain your feeling or the deep despair you're mired in. But, as you move through this difficult life experience, I join my prayers along with many others in asking Heavenly Father to wrap you in His love and give you peace in your minds and hearts as you walk through this tragic time.
We pray that Brian will also feel the deep love so many have for him from across the veil and that this will offer him peace and comfort as he is guided into his next phase of existence.
With Love,
(Aunt) Patrice Crosby Wilson and family
