Obituary of Lily Hall Martin

MARION – Lily M. Hall Martin, age 90 of Marion, OH passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Lily was born on May 13, 1929 in Virgie, Kentucky.  She was the daughter of the late Alvin Hall and Flora Dixie (Tackett) Hall.

She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ishamel G. Martin, on December 24, 1946  and was married 58 years.

Lily proudly served her family as a homemaker all her life and was a very proud Appalachian Mountains woman.

Lily’s passion was her family, Facebook, gardening, and trips to Myrtle Beach to be with her daughter and family.  Above all, she cherished her family and treasured all the time spent with them.

She is survived by her beloved children, son Lanny Martin of Marion, OH and daughter Dreama Thompson (Phillip) of Myrtle Beach, SC; son-in law, Michael Miers of Marion and daughter-in-law Linda Martin of Marion, OH; her grandchildren, Jeffery Casperson, Melissa McKinniss, Stacy Phillians, Shane Miers, Terra Swails; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Dairy, Michael McKinniss, Matthew McKinniss, Skylar Phillians, Haleigh Miers, Graciana Miers, Stella Smith, Jada Shuster, Luke Shuster, Logan Swails, Lucius Swails, Aubrey Swails, and Titus Swails; great-great grandchildren, Jackson McKinniss, Mason Dairy, Addy Dairy, Reiss McKinniss, Max McKinniss, and Hattie McKinniss.
 

Lily was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin & Flora Dixie Hall; husband, Ishamel Martin; daughter, Darla Mires; brother, Carson Hall; sisters, Cova Marie Hall, Ada Parlora Hall, and Irene Cromley; grandsons, Sean Miers and Brian Thompson; great-grandchildren, Atticus David Swails, Jennifer Ada Swails, and Brian Matthew Swails.   

In honoring Lily’s wishes, there will be no visitation or calling hours observed. Interment will be at a later date at the Marion Cemetery, Marion, Ohio.
