Oscar posted a condolence

Clyde and Kathy were our neighbors directly across the street before they moved to SC. They were neighbors who made a positive impact on the whole street. We remember that Clyde kept his home and yard in beautiful condition, he was happy to loan you a tool if he had it, and everybody knew him and he knew everybody. He had such a big heart: we saw him play substitute father to a couple of disadvantaged boys down the block who were so lacking in fatherly guidance and love. The boys would come over and he would give them his attention for hours at a time. We can still picture it, how they sat on his lap and talked and laughed.
Clyde was always fun to talk to and be with. He was clever and easily made us laugh. He talked straight and joked a lot but always with an underlying kindness and truth.
A few years after he and Kathy moved to their enviable golf course home in Pawley's Island, we went to visit. It was a very memorable trip and so much fun to see them again. They were able to drop by in CA a few times also and we kept in touch through holiday messages, hurricane damage reports, and, of course, Clyde's frequent email funnies.
We will miss Clyde but he lived a long and meaningful life and he enriched many people's lives. Our deepest condolences to Kathy and his entire family. May your memories give you peace and comfort.
