Mary Catherine Smith Creson, 61, wife of Gary D. Creson, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at MUSC. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 3PM at Lakewood Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2PM. Born in Columbia, SC on October 12, 1958, Mrs. Creson was the daughter of the late Jack Horace Smith and the late Geneva Camlin Smith Clapp. Mrs. Creson was a devoted member of Lakewood Baptist Church and a youth Sunday School teacher. She was a Winyah High School and Mars Hills University graduate. Mrs. Creson taught elementary school for 38 years at McDonald Elementary and she loved spending time with friends and family. Surviving, in addition to her husband of 40 years, is one daughter, Ashley Creson (Burns Windley) of Lexington, SC; a son, Jason Creson (Carly) of Andrews, SC; four grandchildren, Rhyley, Will, Rhaegan, and Carson; and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Smith. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.grahamfuneralhome.org.
