Obituary of Eugene Ray Harrington

Eugene Ray Harrington, husband of Patricia Powell Harrington, 75, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 at his home. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Graham Funeral Home from 5PM-7PM. Born on May 4, 1945 in Cumberland, Maryland, he was the son of the late Kenneth Harrington and the late Charlotte Noyes Harrington. Mr. Harrington worked with the Department of Social Services as a social worker and also part time for the Parks and Recreation Department. He was on the board of the Georgetown County Gamecock Club and was a former reserve deputy for the county. He loved being involved in with local youth sports by volunteering as a coach and umpire for several years along with working the scoreboards at basketball games. Mr. Harrington was a proud member of the Georgetown community and a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed. Surviving in addition to his wife of 33 years are one daughter, Jessica Olds of Murrells Inlet, SC; one stepson, Jamie Blankenship (Ashley) of Socastee; four grandchildren, David Blankenship of Georgetown, Taylor Blankenship of Charleston, Carlie Blankenship of Charleston, and RK Miller of Murrells Inlet; a sister-in-law, Susan Edwards; one nephew, Michael Edwards (Kimberly) of Georgetown; and a niece, Virginia Anne Edwards of Garden City.
