Obituary of Thomas Threet Mayfield, Sr.

Thomas Threet Mayfield, Sr., 81, husband of Billie Ann Marsh Mayfield, passed away at Vibra Hospital of Charleston on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11AM at Georgetown Church of Christ. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10AM. Burial, with military honors, will be held in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral service. Friends wishing to view Mr. Mayfield and sign a register book may do so at Graham Funeral Home on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 10AM-5PM. Due to Covid-19, masks will be required and social distancing will be enforced. Mr. Mayfield was born in Georgetown, SC on March 27, 1939. He was a son of the late James Lewis Mayfield, Sr. and the late Jessie Mae Jackson Mayfield. Mr. Mayfield was a United States Army veteran and retired after 34 years from the Refractory Department at Georgetown Steel. Mr. Mayfield was a devoted member of Georgetown Church of Christ. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with family and friends. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Christopher Curtis Smith (Lena) of Florence and Thomas Lee Mayfield of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Hannah Grace Mayfield, Joanna Lee Mayfield, and C.J. Smith; one sister, Veiva Smoak of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, James Mayfield Jr., Charles Mayfield, and Edith Lambert.
