Obituary of Ruth D. Bouchette

Ruth Duncan Bouchette, 89, widow of Dowie Marvin Bouchette, Sr., passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. A graveside funeral service, officiated by Evelyn Washington and Pastor Greg Thompson, will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens at 2PM. Due to Covid-19, the family asks that you practice social distancing and face masks will be required. Mrs. Bouchette was born in Andrews, SC on July 17, 1931 to the late James Redmon Duncan and the late Eva Elliott Duncan. She was a member of Georgetown Church of God. Mrs. Bouchette was a nurse for many years in Georgetown and cared for her patients as if they were her own family. She retired from The Medical Building in Georgetown. Mrs. Bouchette was a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family and will be dearly missed. She is survived by three children, Dowie Marvin Bouchette, Jr. of Georgetown, Michael Steven Bouchette of Hemingway, and Marcia Sports (Billy) of Nesmith; two grandchildren, Michelle Young (Chad) of Georgetown and Paige Hayes (Josiah) of Hemingway; three great grandchildren, Hunter Chadwick Young, Caroline Aubrey Young, and Rivers Wade Hayes; one sister, Beulah Taylor of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Duncan; a sister, Hazel Merritt; and two grandchildren, William Aubrey Sports, Jr. and Eva Jane Sports.
