Alex Andrew Troublefield, Sr., 86, husband of Mary Jo McCants Troublefield, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at his home.
A funeral service will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 at Lakewood Baptist Church at 3PM. The family will briefly receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:30PM. Burial will immediately follow the service in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Troublefield was born on December 16, 1934 in Georgetown County to Mr. Earl Richard Troublefield, Sr. and Mrs. Maude Heckle Troublefield. He was a founding member and deacon at Lakewood Baptist Church. He was a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir who was devoted to taking care of his church family. Mr. Troublefield was a retired National Guardsman after serving 36 years, 24 of which were spent in food service. He was an accomplished mechanic and handy-man who loved hunting and fishing in his free time.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, he is survived by two sons, Alex Andrew Troublefield, Jr. “Andy” of Georgetown and Johnny Mack Cooper (Cynthia) of Georgetown; grandchildren, Johnny Cooper (Jessica) of Georgetown, Beth Principe (James) of Murrells Inlet, Abbie Porter (Adam) of Andrews; nine great grandchildren, one sister, Doris T. Lambert (Nettles, Sr.) of Georgetown; one brother, Earl Richard Troublefield of Amarillo, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Troublefield was preceded in death by a sister, Lessie Mills and a nephew, Richard Lambert.
