Obituary of Wendell Jay Gause

Wendell Jay Gause, 70, husband of June Warr Gause, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 31, 2021 at 2PM at Victory Christian Fellowship. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1PM. Burial in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens will immediately follow the service. Mr. Gause was born in Horry County on December 14, 1950 to the late William Joseph Gause and the late Reba Gilmore McCants. He was a 1969 Winyah High School graduate and a United States Air Force Veteran who served in Vietnam. Mr. Gause was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship Church, the group Vets for Jesus, and the men’s fellowship group at Victory. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking and loved his family dearly. In addition to his beloved wife of 48 years, he is survived by two sons, Jericho Gause of Georgetown and Jason Gause (Scarlett) of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Vivienne Gause, Isadora Gause, Jagger Gause, Joshua Gause, and Christian Gause; two great grandchildren, Malachi Gause, AJ Hensley; two sisters, Robin Glessner (Ricky) of Georgetown and Cheryl Baker (Dennis) of Georgetown; one brother, Frank Gause (Karen) of Conway; and a number of extended family.
