Obituary of Benjamin Franklin Anderson, Sr.

Benjamin Franklin Anderson, Sr., 86, husband of Betty Jean Barnhill Anderson, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at MUSC. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 3PM in Graham Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2PM. Burial in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will immediately follow the service. Mr. Anderson was born on October 4, 1935 in Georgetown, SC to the late Edward Anderson and the late Minnie Lambert Anderson. He retired from International Paper’s Container Division. In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by a daughter, Pamela Anderson Cox (JR) of Loris, SC; a son, L. Wayne Anderson (Tammy) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; five grandchildren, Ciara McKnight (Jared) of Baton Rouge, LA, Justin R. Cox of Loris, SC, Kyle A. Cox (Bridget) of N. Myrtle Beach, Mikala Anderson, Makenzie Anderson of Mount Pleasant; three great grandchildren, Cherry McKnight, J.B. McKnight, and Isaac McKnight; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Franklin Anderson, Jr.; two sisters, Bertha Altman Owens, Mary Parker; and four brothers, Edward Anderson, William Anderson, Jackie Anderson, and Harry Anderson.
