Obituary of Nell Owens Rogers

Nell Virginia Owens Rogers, widow of Thomas Logan Rogers, Sr., passed away peacefully in the home she and her husband built, surrounded by her family Tuesday, January 31, 2023. A visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church from 5-7 PM in the sanctuary. Funeral services will be the following day on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary as well. Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Rogers was born July 7, 1933 in Georgetown to the Late Lonnie Buford Owens and the late Helen Blanche Anderson Owens. She was a charter member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church and attending and serving for over 82 years. Mrs. Rogers was a former Sunday School teacher and member of the Golden Youth. She was well known for her attention to detail in her upholstery and cake decorating businesses. In her retirement, Mrs. Rogers enjoyed traveling on bus tours and spending time with friends and family. Surviving are two daughters, Lois Joye and her husband Henry of Myrtle Beach, Linda Elliott of Georgetown; and one son, Tommy Rogers and his wife Robin of Georgetown; ten grandchildren, sixteen greatgrandchildren, 2 great-greatgrandchildren; and one brother, Wesley Owens and his wife, Connie of Georgetown. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Wayne Rogers; three sisters, Marjorie Beagle, Joyce Elliott, and Blanche Carter; and two brothers, Durant Owens and Michael Owens.
