Obituary of Harold Hope James, Sr.

Harold Hope James, Sr. passed away Friday August 25, 2023 in Oak Hollow Rehabilitation Center of Georgetown. The James family will receive friends 6:00-8:00PM Sunday August 27, 2023 at Graham Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Monday August 28, 2023 in the chapel of Graham Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Born July 21, 1936 in Conway, he was a son of the late Malcom James and the late Lillian Cannon James. Mr. James was a Conway High School graduate and a United States Air Force veteran. Mr. James retired from International Paper where he was an electrician. He was also the former union president of the local IBEW. Mr. James was a charter member of the Winyah Rescue Squad and Ocean Waves Square Dance Club. He enjoyed going to auctions and listening to Southern Gospel music. Surviving are, one son, Harold “Hal” Hope James, Jr. and his wife Donna of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Brittany Hope James of Georgetown, Bevan Juliette Carr (Nick) of Georgetown, , Harold “Tres” Hope James III of Dallas, TX, James Stancil Carr (Kaylin) of Georgetown; one adopted son, Greg Eaddy of Georgetown; one brother, Hank James of Socastee; sister in law Doris James and numerous other brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In addition to his parents, He was predeceased by his wife, Juliette McConnell James, a daughter, Daphne James Carr, two sisters, Enanwood, and Elanor, four brothers Joe, Bobby, Olin, and Earl. The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and the staff of Oak Hollow Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care given to Mr. James.
